The DEEP NOISE project, developed by the Algeciras-based start-up SonaGrid – a participant in the acceleration programme run by the Centre for Digital Entrepreneurship in Port Logistics at the Port of Algeciras – has been awarded the atrÉBT! 2026 in the Business Projects category, an award organised by the University of Cádiz to promote innovative entrepreneurship and the creation of technology-based companies.
The award was presented during the closing ceremony of the 18th edition of the atrÉBT! Awards, held on 9 July in the courtyard of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies in Cádiz, in an edition that this year awarded thirteen prizes from among 119 entries submitted by the university community and its wider network.
This competition, which has established itself as one of the leading initiatives supporting entrepreneurship within the Andalusian university community, aims to promote new economic activities with high added value, foster knowledge transfer and support projects with growth potential and a positive impact on the region.

The winning project, led by Víctor Manuel Díaz, proposes an innovative distributed acoustic intelligence solution capable of identifying noise sources in real time using IoT sensor networks and artificial intelligence algorithms. The technology developed by SonaGrid enables the acoustic characterisation of urban and industrial environments and large-scale infrastructure, providing advanced information for operational management and decision-making.
DEEP NOISE’s value proposition is based on the design of autonomous monitoring nodes capable of processing information directly on the device, without the need to transmit audio to central servers. This approach enables the identification of specific acoustic events whilst guaranteeing data privacy and facilitating the collection of high-value data for public authorities, industrial operators and infrastructure managers.
The start-up forms part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem driven by the Centre for Digital Entrepreneurship in Port Logistics, launched as part of the Misión Andalucía initiative and in collaboration with the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA).
The capabilities of the solution developed by SonaGrid open up new possibilities for areas such as environmental monitoring, the generation of dynamic acoustic maps, the identification of operational incidents and support for predictive maintenance strategies in critical infrastructure, aligning with some of the challenges of innovation and digital transformation facing the logistics and port sector.
For the Digital Entrepreneurship Centre, this recognition serves as a further example of the talent and innovative potential of the projects that form part of its entrepreneurial community. The award won by SonaGrid also reinforces the role of the Port of Algeciras as a leading hub for the development, validation and scaling of technological solutions capable of addressing the real challenges of logistics, mobility and the infrastructure of the future.
