Alén Space is a Spanish start-up founded in 2019 as a spin-off from the University of Vigo, specialising in the design, development and operation of small satellites. Based in Vigo (Galicia), the company has established itself as a leader in the NewSpace sector, offering turnkey solutions ranging from consulting to the manufacture and launch of nanosatellites.
With a track record marked by milestones such as the launch of the first Spanish nanosatellite, Xatcobeo, and collaborations with space agencies and international organisations, Alén Space has demonstrated its technological capabilities and innovative spirit. Its team, with more than a decade of experience, has led global missions, positioning the company as one of the most recognised in the European space ecosystem, currently part of the GMV Group.
Alén Space’s value proposition focuses on facilitating access to space through modular and scalable solutions that enable companies and public entities to deploy customised satellite services. Its applications include environmental monitoring, telecommunications, Earth observation and in-orbit asset management.
The APBA is collaborating with Alén Space on the innovative SATMAR project, funded by the Puertos 4.0 Fund of Puertos del Estado and aimed at exploring the potential of nanosatellites and VDES (VHF Data Exchange System) technology in the maritime and port sectors.
