On Tuesday 22nd April, within the framework of the Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair of the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville, the session entitled “Open Innovation as the axis of collaboration between entities, companies and startups” was held. An activity promoted by the SVQ Emprende Ecosystem and attended by students, professors, entrepreneurship technicians from public and private entities and professionals from companies in various sectors.
The session, moderated by Juan Luís Pavón, was structured in 3 blocks, one of which focused on the presentation of several success stories in open innovation between companies, entities and startups. Through the conversation format, the experiences of companies such as Inerco and Secmotic, Endesa and Ingelectus and, finally, the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras with DeepInsight were presented. Daniel Hernández Aliana, Director of the Innovation Office of the APBA, together with David Rodríguez Lorenzo, Co-founder and CIO of DeepInsight, a spin-off of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), were in charge of telling how the APBA proposes its open innovation programme and how the projects that the Port Authority has underway jointly with DeepInsight arise and are being developed.

The session also included a first presentation by Antonio Carmona Lavado, Professor at the Pablo de Olavide University and INN-LAB researcher on innovation, entrepreneurship and family businesses, focused on disseminating the keys to the open innovation model. Afterwards, and before the panel of success stories, various programmes in the field of open innovation that are being developed by entities such as Espacio RES, CTA, Cesur, PCT Cartuja or Estrella Galicia were also presented.
SVQ Emprende is presented as the organised collaboration of all the agents of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Seville. This public-private alliance, promoted by the City Council, brings together more than 60 entities from Seville’s socio-economic ecosystem linked to the promotion of the creation of new companies and/or the development of existing companies: business organisations, universities, technology parks, foundations, business accelerators and incubators, groups of investors, professional associations, business schools, social economy entities, technology communities, coworking centres. All collaborating and working in a coordinated manner with the aim of accompanying and promoting entrepreneurial talent and strengthening the productive fabric.
