The Innovation Committee of the Algeciras Port held, last Tuesday 8 July, a new meeting with the double objective of taking stock of the results obtained during the first half of the year, and to know first hand the activity of the Centre for Digital Entrepreneurship in Port Logistics of the Algeciras Port.
Jesús Medina, Head of the Technological Development Area of the APBA and President of the Committee itself, was in charge of opening this new meeting, which continued with the presentation of two new memberships: Logika Distribution, as a Vocal Member, and Satinel-System, as an Expert Advisor. These added to the total of 43 members of the Committee.
This was followed by a review of the initiatives developed in the different lines of work of this forum with the Port Community. On the one hand, a summary was presented of the 17 projects supported within the framework of the 3rd Call for Pre-commercial Projects of the Ports 4.0 Fund, promoted by the State Ports Public Body, where several of the Committee Members have been involved. Likewise, the progress achieved after the Workshop for the Identification of Innovation Challenges, held in the previous working session, and focused on identifying key challenges and exploring opportunities for joint innovation in the port-logistics field, was shared.

Finally, attendees had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the new Digital Entrepreneurship Centre and learn about the range of services and spaces set up as part of the Misión Andalucía initiative, an ambitious programme promoted by the Andalusian Regional Government and various local partners to foster technological entrepreneurship in strategic sectors.
