CMA CGM Group has inaugurated Tangram, a global center dedicated to maritime training and innovation, located in Marseille, this facility aims to foster collaboration among CMA CGM employees, clients, partners, start-ups, and academic institutions by offering specialized training programs in climate, artificial intelligence, and leadership, developed in partnership with leading universities.
This center has been created with various ambitions. One of the main intentions is to serve as a vibrant hub for the innovation and supply chain community, creating a collaborative environment, in which organizations, corporations, universities, and startups gather on a daily basis to collaborate on learning & innovation projects. Moreover, Tangram provides several spaces devoted to immersive and stimulation experiences to further showcase immersion, innovation, and technology.
The focus of the mission of the hub is both on Learning & Development and on Innovation. Regarding the first one, Tangram’s Learning Programs focus on Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, and Leadership, employing concept-based teaching and immersive learning methods to foster creativity and drive advancements in transportation and logistics. On the other hand, TANGRAM explores new frontiers in the supply chain industry. Innovating through Applied Innovation initiatives and projects, it offers hands-on support to develop pioneering solutions, shaping the future of the sector.

The main inputs and contributions are:
- Tangram features an 8,500 square meter space, mostly for 22 training rooms, designed to facilitate meetings and innovation, including too navigation simulators, an innovation hub, and a cutting-ege technology event space hosting 200 people, with a total expected capacity of 12,000 visitors per year.
- The hub counts with 4 immersive and stimulation experiences, with activities around virtual and augmented reality, making it a hub of innovation, immersion and technology. Experiences range from various stages of the shipping journey, from the point of departure and port terminals to life on the vessel.
- Its secondary zonification is distributed in an spacious entry area, comfortable and eco-friendly lounge included, for socializing and nertworking possibilities; a Media Studio, providing space and materials to support the production of audiovisual content; Creative Rooms, to foster creativity, ideas stimulation, brainstorming and entrepeneurship; a Fitness space and, finally, everything crowned with an spacious terrace and green areas.
- The Learning Programs, developed in collaboration with esteemed institutions such as BCG University, Imperial College London, and HEC Paris, enhance understanding of strategic topics like Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, and Leadership. Through concept-based teaching and immersive learning methods, these programs foster creativity and propel advancements in the transport and logistics industry.
- The Innovation Projects base their methods on shared knowledge and expertise to accelerate impact-driven projects, unlocking uncharted territory in the supply chain landscape. Through design sprints, multidisciplinary teams define, test and validate innovative products, processes or solutions within the maritime industry.
- Both learning activities and innovation projects count with the participation of many corporations, universities and organizations, stablishing a collaborative working environment, which fits with the different spaces that Tangram offers to its users.
- Tangrams hosts innovation activities and events like the Innovation Week, in which key players and partners are gathered in a 3-day annual event to discuss innovation on industries; the InnoFridays, a weekly session focused on fostering a culture of innovation by sharing insights on entrepreneurship and tech topics; or the Silobreaker, in which sessions dismantle barriers within a company involving highlighting internal innovations to enhance information exchange and speed up collaborative efforts around innovation.
