After two years of absence, TOC Europe has once again brought together professionals from the global container supply chain in Rotterdam, with the aim of analyzing how the sector must adapt to the unpredictable economic climate, how new technologies are changing the rules of the game or what will be the best strategies in the field of sustainability.
The event, which last year welcomed more than 4,000 attendees, is considered the benchmark event for cutting-edge port technology, where every year new products and services are presented and the public has the opportunity to see, touch and test in person the latest solutions from more than 200 leading suppliers, including both established names and more specialized start-ups.
Over three days, the TOC Europe program brings together more than 100 world-class specialists, including representatives from major ports such as Rotterdam or Hamburg, the European Commission, AP Moller Maersk or IKEA. For this purpose, it is structured in two blocks, on the one hand, the renowned Container Supply Chain Conference (CSC) and, on the other hand, the TECH TOC program, which focuses on presenting the latest innovations in the market and how these are revolutionizing the industry.
In addition, each of the days is approached with a specific focus (Business Intelligence Day, Sustainable Day and Digital Day), allowing attendees to customize their program and build their own agenda, allowing them to optimize their time to network, discover and soak up the latest innovations and developments.
On the first day, NextPort.AI CEO Oscar Pernía and Jesús Medina, Head of Technology Development at APBA, have jointly participated in a round table called Digital Transformation and Innovation, dedicated to the use of digital twins and artificial intelligence in the port industry. During the same, Pernía and Medina have been accompanied by representatives of the Port of Barcelona, Konecranes, DSP, Paceco Momentum and WorldCargo News Publishing.
In particular, Jesús Medina and Oscar Pernía have presented the progress and first results of the digital platform for operations orchestration that NextPort is developing and that is constituted as a digital twin with prescriptive analytical capabilities covering all the maritime and terrestrial operations of the Port of Algeciras.
