Summary:
The project aims to develop the Algeciras Port Management System (PMS). As a first stage, the development is focused on seaside port operations.
It should be said that a PMS is a broad concept, based on the integration of systems, which works as a unique interface platform and which allows coordinating/ monitoring port activities and linking data with planning and financial activities (i.e.: billing).
This system will automate the data collection and coordination in real time and will allow the Board of Directors to analyse the information on port operations in a more robust manner and make strategic decisions faster and more accurate.
Finally, the system represents an important advance in the automation of task, facilitating the workflows and optimizing port assets and human resources.
Innovation of the project:
- System that allows integrating and managing all the information related to maritime operations for monitoring, supervision, approval of entering and leaving, and, on the other hand, forecasting and analysing port performance.
Products of the project:
- PMS software platform that includes VTS (Vessel Traffic System), KLEIN Port (Port management), JBPM (task and process manager) and systems integration (ESB)
- Business intelligence software platform for seaside port operations.
- New software platform for seaside port operations
- New software Platform for EDI messaging
- Equipment (HW): 2 radar stations and 1 AIS station, communications integrator, adaptation of checkpoints, operations (police station and CCs).
Usability /application:
- Board of Directors for making strategic and tactical decisions by implementing BI applications and monitoring performance indicators
- Maritime operations department (TOP, Police station, SIIGB-Trainee Operator, Dept., Chief and division chief) for the management and approval of vessel’s entrance/departure.
