Summary
Purpose of the Competition
The Algeciras TechTalent Innovation Awards for the best final degree projects (TFG) are aimed at students enrolled in higher education programmes related to digital transformation at vocational training centres in the region, with the aim of recognising the talent, dedication and innovation of their work.
In this third edition, and continuing the initiatives promoted within the framework of the Algeciras Port Digital Academy programme, the APBA has strengthened its collaboration with students and teachers from two educational centres: the Higher Degree in Multiplatform Application Development at IES Saladillo and the Higher Degree in Web Application Development at IES Kursaal.
As part of the project, several students had the opportunity to undertake internships at leading companies in the Port Community, receive training sessions given by professionals in the sector and participate in technical visits to different facilities. All this with the aim of bringing them closer to port operational processes and showing them the various career opportunities offered in this field.

Thus, this new edition of the initiative organised by the Port Authority once again focused on rewarding the best work produced by students who had the opportunity to enjoy the aforementioned internship programme.
Evaluation of the works
The works were evaluated by a Jury made up of professionals from the Technological Development Area of the APBA and professors from the faculties of both training centres.
Specifically, the following criteria were analysed:
- Quality of the work presented (50% of the score). Assessing: (1) Clarity, precision, structure and synthesis capacity of the documents delivered. (2) Quality level in the source code of applications, according to the results offered by the static analysis tool SonarQube, with default quality profiles.
- Degree of direct or indirect applicability to a use case related to the logistics-port business (25% of the score).
- Degree of innovation in the proposal made by the student (25% of the score).

The jury declared Lucía Martínez Quijada, from IES Saladillo, and Francisco Fernando Gaitán Pérez, from IES Kursaal, as the winners of the second edition for their projects ‘Sweet Recipes’ and ‘Puerto Interactivo Mapeado Integrable’ (Interactive Mapped and Integratable Port), respectively.
