Summary
Purpose of the Competition
The Innovation Awards ‘Algeciras TechTalent’ to the best final degree projects (TFG), are aimed at students of Higher Degrees related to Digital Transformation in Vocational Training centres in the region, in order to recognise the talent, dedication and innovation of their work.
In this second edition of the award, and within the framework of the Algeciras Port Digital Academy programme, the APBA has developed a new collaboration with students and teachers from two centres, specifically the Higher Degree in Multiplatform Applications Development of the Secondary Education and Vocational Training Institute Saladillo (IES Saladillo) and the Higher Degree in Web Applications Development of the Secondary Education Institute Kursaal (IES Kursaal). As part of this project, several of the students from these schools carried out internships in leading companies in the Port Community, as well as receiving master classes from their professionals and organised visits to their facilities in order to learn first-hand about their operational processes and the professional possibilities existing in the sector.

Thus, this new edition of the initiative organised by the Port Authority once again focused on rewarding the best work produced by the students who had the opportunity to enjoy the aforementioned internship programme.
Evaluation of the works
The works were evaluated by a Jury made up of professionals from the Technological Development Area of the APBA and professors from the faculties of both training centres.
Specifically, the following criteria were analysed:
- Quality of the work presented (50% of the score). Assessing: (1) Clarity, precision, structure and synthesis capacity of the documents delivered. (2) Quality level in the source code of applications, according to the results offered by the static analysis tool SonarQube, with default quality profiles.
- Degree of direct or indirect applicability to a use case related to the logistics-port business (25% of the score).
- Degree of innovation in the proposal made by the student (25% of the score).
