The Algeciras BrainPort Innovation Award, which is in its third edition, recognises the best Bachelor’s Degree (TFG) and Master’s Degree (TFM) final projects, carried out by university students and researchers from national and international universities, which cover different topics related to the logistics-port business from an innovative perspective.
The Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) and the Algeciras Technological Campus Foundation (FCTA) sponsor this award, which deadline for submission of applications opened in November last year and will end on the 20th of October.
Both entities have been working actively for several years to promote innovation and create an innovative culture around the Port of Algeciras Bay and the region, thus generating an innovation ecosystem of international reference. Through this new edition, they want to continue to recognise those innovative changes in process, product, service or even the development of new business models which can improve the competitive advantage of the port.
The works presented will be evaluated by a Jury made up of representatives of the APBA, FCTA and the University of Cadiz (UCA), professionals from the academic field and specialists of recognised prestige in the subject matter of the awards, as well as experts in the evaluation of entrepreneurial initiatives.
The awards, for each of the categories, consist of a scholarship of 100% of the enrolment fee to study a Master’s Degree at the UCA (Master’s Degree in Port Management and Logistics, Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Master’s Degree in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency), in the case of the Best Final Bachelor Degree Project (TFG), and the winner of the Best Final Master’s Degree Project (TFM), will be awarded a 6-month paid scholarship at the APBA, with a monthly amount of €1,050, where he/she will also be given the opportunity to continue developing their project.
